Post War Art

September/October 2027 Issue Special Feature

In the September/October issue of American Fine Art Magazine, we are proud to introduce our Collector’s Focus: Post War Art.Post War art is among those categories of historic art, much like modernism, that is difficult to pin down. Rather than indicating a specific style, genre, subject or movement, Post War art refers to artwork created in the United States, Europe and Japan during a time period that spans the turbulent aftermath of World War II up to the 1970s and 80s when the rise of contemporary art marked the beginning of another era of art history. Abstract Expressionism, Pop Art, Minimalism, Conceptual art, post-painterly abstraction Neo-Dada and more all fall within the Post War time frame, and are a response to the devastation of war and the cultural, social and political upheaval that followed, they are wildly different in both style and ideology. Encompassing such a large era, it is likely that you have Post War artwork in your gallery, collection or upcoming auction. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to share your Post War work with interested collectors nationwide.
