Leland Little’s Fine Art Auction on March 11 will feature a wide selection of works by important American artists from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. The sales offer collectors a strong mix of paintings, works on paper and sculptures that reflect the depth and range of American art history. Among the highlights is a collection of three original works by Minnie Evans, including those that first introduced her work to Nina Howell Starr in 1962 and are mentioned in the correspondence between Starr and Evans, housed in the Smithsonian Archives.
Also included is a large landscape by William Charles Anthony Frerichs. Born in Ghent, he immigrated to the United States in 1850. While greatly influenced by the Hudson River School painters, Frerichs found his greatest inspiration in the Blue Ridge and Sauratown Mountains of North Carolina.

The 39th annual March in Montana Auction and Dealer Show returns to the Great Falls Elks Club this March, bringing together collectors, dealers and art lovers for one of the premier Western art and collectibles events in the country. The 2026 sale will feature roughly 725 lots alongside a wide range of dealers, celebrating the art, artifacts and spirit of the American West. Among the historic offerings in this year’s sale are several exceptional bronzes, including original casts of Frederic Remington’s iconic Bronco Buster and Charles M. Russell’s rare Range Father. Notable works by Bob Kuhn and Olaf C. Seltzer will be offered as well.
The auction takes place on Saturday, March 21, at 11 a.m. A preview runs from 9 a.m. to noon.

Art of the American West
John Moran Auctioneers’ spring edition of its Art of the American West sale will offer more than 250 lots of historic and contemporary Western art, sculpture, Native American artifacts and decorative arts. Collectors can bid for works by Joseph Henry Sharp, John Mulvany, Kathryn Leighton, Gustave Baumann, Marjorie Reed, Boyd Elder and many more.
Among the highlights in the upcoming auction is an 1876 oil by Mulvany titled Preliminary Trial of a Horse Thief, Scene in a Western Justice’s Court, featuring a group of men in a dark room waiting to deliver judgement to a criminal. The painting has a presale of $20,000 to $30,000.
The Art of the American West sale is scheduled for April 7.

The Art of Al Hirschfeld II - Property from the Margo Feiden Archive Illustration Art Showcase Auction, held by Heritage Auctions, will feature numerous works by American artist, illustrator and caricaturist Al Hirschfeld.
Highlights in the forthcoming sale include a circa 1975 ink on board titled Tony Award Telecast, Paul Newman, Angela Lansbury, Joanne Woodward, Peter Ustinov, Carol Channing, and Alexander Cohen; a 2001 Self-Portrait lithograph; as well as color lithographs depicting Paul McCartney and Liza Minelli.
