Presented by the Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library, the 62nd annual Delaware Antiques Show returns to Chase Center on the Riverfront in Wilmington, Delaware, from November 7 through 9. More than 60 of the nation’s top dealers will offer a vast selection of high-end American antiques, fine art, silver, jewelry, porcelain, rugs, furniture and other decorative objects.

Among the notable exhibitors are Arader Galleries, Betty Krulik Fine Art, David Brooker Fine Art, Somerville Manning Gallery, William Cook Antiques, Avery Galleries, Earle D. Vandekar of Knightsbridge, Parker Gallery, Silver Art by D & R, Thistlewaite Americana, Roger Winter Antiques Dixon-Hall Fine Art, Dolan Maxwell, and many others.

“One of the great things about the Delaware Antiques Show is the chance to learn directly from expert dealers,” says Chris Strand, director and CEO of the Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library. “The show consistently draws some of the most respected voices in the field, including scholars, curators and collectors. There’s nothing like standing with someone who has decades of experience as they reveal what makes an antique special. Our dealers are exceptional. Asking a question is like stepping into a master class. It’s an experience you just can’t get online.”

There are also more formal learning opportunities through a variety of special programming throughout the weekend. Interior designer Nadia Watts will deliver the keynote lecture “Designing with Soul: How Legacy, Nature, and Antiques Shape Interiors,” on Saturday at 10 a.m. A descendent of Louis C. Tiffany, Watts will discuss how her family’s artistic legacy has influenced her own creative vision, and how nature and antiques inform her timeless interior design style. Additional lectures by leading scholars explore other topics in American material culture including ceramics, furniture, Americana and folk art, and more.

“The Delaware Antiques Show attracts a wide range of collectors, from seasoned connoisseurs to curious newcomers,” says Strand. “Known for its focus on high-quality American antiques, it features premier dealers offering 18th- to early 20th-century treasures. With Winterthur’s decorative arts legacy, the show appeals to those seeking pieces with historical and aesthetic value, whether for collecting, decorating or inspiration.”

The Delaware Antiques Show kicks of with the ticketed Opening Night Party on Thursday, November 6 from 6 to 9 p.m., with general admission tickets available to the public Friday through Sunday. For tickets and additional details visit the event website.

Proceeds from the Delaware Antiques Show help fund key educational initiatives at Winterthur, and in recent years has benefitted roughly 14,000 youth each year. Strand adds, “Our goal is to reach 30,000 students each year by the end of the decade, fostering a love of history, fine art, design, nature and science in the next generation.” —
