Shannon’s first auction of the year will include nearly 200 lots of fine art, with a variety of historic American art hitting the auction block, including Hudson River School artists, American impressionism and more.
Artists represented in the upcoming sale include Edward Charles Volkert, Mabel May Woodward, Priscilla Warren Roberts, Emile Gruppe, William Hart and Charles Burchfield. Going strong at its new Las Vegas location, the traditional Old West Auction, held in conjunction with the Old West Show and the Las Vegas Antique Arms Show, will highlight some of the top galleries and dealers from across the country. The sale will offer an array of firearms, cowboy artifacts, historic Western and Native American art and more.
Frank Schoonover’s sports scene Youth Will be Served (Baseball) has a presale estimate of $6,000 to $9,000, while a watercolor, pen and ink piece by Will James titled West and East - The Twain Meets is expected to fetch between $4,000 and $8,000. Collectors can also vie for works by W.H.D. Koerner, Edward Borein, Olaf C. Seltzer and Benton Henderson Clark, as well as a number of modern-day artists.

Collectors can compete for over 400 lots of decoys, bronzes, paintings and more during Copley Fine Art Auctions’ upcoming Winter Sale. The live-streamed auction will offer phone, absentee and internet bidding on three different online platforms, including CopleyLive.
Leading the sporting art lineup is A Moment’s Rest - Foxhounds at the Ford (est. $50/80,000), by Percival Leonard Rosseau, depicting a horse and hounds by a river. Another work on offer by the artist is a recently discovered oil of two setters titled Over the Fence, and a Point, estimated at $30,000 to $50,000.
A series of 38 works by Aiden Lassell Ripley will be on offer as well, with 33 hailing from the Alex Chester Collection of Works by Aiden Lassell Ripley. Pair of Grouse in Apple Tree and Winter on the Marsh, two watercolors by Ripley, are each expected to bring in $15,000 to $25,000.
The 2025 Winter Sale will begin at 10 a.m. on both Friday and Saturday.

The 400-lot auction will feature 38 pieces from Titans of the American West from KSA Industries, Inc: A Bud Adams Company. Among the artists featured in this collection are Joe Beeler, Tony Eubanks and James Boren. Highlights of 20th-century wildlife art include Bob Kuhn’s oil on board White-Tailed Jackrabbit and Coyote (est. $15/25,000), depicting a jackrabbit fleeing from its canine pursuer, and Robert Bateman’s acrylic Ram (est. $12/18,000). —
