“The quality and diversity of dealers, as well as fresh and unique presentations each year, continue to entice and enthrall our discerning collector base,” says Douglas Durkin, FOG Design+Art Steering committee member. Galleries exhibiting 19th and 20th-century American art at the 2023 fair include Michael Rosenfeld Gallery, Hosfelt Gallery and Fraenkel Gallery, among others.

“For this coming year, Michael Rosenfeld of New York, who has brought not only important historic but contemporary presentations, will be bringing a compelling survey of post-war American abstraction from the mid 1950s to the early 1970s, centered around 10 mid-century sculptures by Harry Bertoia, paired with a rich presentation of works on paper including such artists as Lee Krasner, Elaine de Kooning, Claire Falkenstein, Norman Lewis and Alma Thomas,” Durkin reveals. In addition, Durkin says Hosfelt Gallery of San Francisco will be presenting the works of Bay Area mid-century masters Jay DeFeo and Bruce Connor, while Fraenkel Gallery, also based in San Francisco, will showcase works by major American photographers Carlton Watkins, Richard Avedon and Diane Arbus.
