The Art Show saw immense success this year, raising $1.3 million for its founding partner Henry Street Settlement

Returning to the Park Avenue Armory for yet another successful year was the 34th edition of The Art Show from November 3 to 6. The prestigious nonprofit event is presented by the Art Dealers Association of America, which celebrated a milestone 60th anniversary in 2022. The fair brought together New York City’s top collectors, curators, museum directors, advisors, artists and writers for four days of arts and culture. Combining both the Benefit Preview & Gala on November 2 with total admissions proceeds from the show itself, The Art Show raised nearly $1.3 million for its founding partner, Henry Street Settlement. The nonprofit organization aids Lower East Side residents and other New Yorkers through social services, arts and health care programs.

A record 78 exhibitors were in attendance for the 2022 fair—including Thomas Colville Fine Art, Debra Force Fine Art and Miles McEnery Gallery—as well as 55 solo presentations.

“We were delighted to gather again at the Park Avenue Armory with our ADAA member galleries this year,” says ADAA executive director Maureen Bray. “The fair exceeded expectations for both our exhibitors and Henry Street Settlement...There were many knock-out booths this year, but the solo exhibition of Flora Crockett by Meredith Ward Fine Art, the group presentation by Debra Force Fine Art including George Tooker, and Schoelkopf Gallery’s stunning display of Felrath Hines particularly stood out as fine examples of the fair’s reputation for showing exceptional...[20th-century art].”

The “Best in Show” winners for 2022, selected by the Art Show Committee, were Betty Cuningham Gallery (“Best in Show Booth”) for its solo presentation of sculptor Mia Westerlund Roosen; and Mary-Anne Martin | Fine Art (“Best in Show Object”) for the painting Tuna (Still Life with Prickly Pear Fruit) by Frida Kahlo.
