The annual Hamptons Fine Art Fair brings four days of fine art and culture to the Hamptons during the height of the summer season from July 14 to 17. This dynamic, upscale event, produced by ShowHamptons, features 85 select galleries from 43 cities and eight countries exhibiting both contemporary and historic art. And this year, the Hamptons Fine Art Fair expands from Southampton Arts Center to the expansive 17-acre Southampton Fairgrounds, neighboring the Mercedes-Benz of Southampton dealership and the Southampton Golf Club. Andrew Wyeth (1917-2009), Surf. The Hamptons Fine Art Fair is “the largest art selection of fine art offered for immediate acquisition in the Hamptons in years, maybe ever,” says ShowHamptons executive director Rick Friedman. “The fair will have a sizable offering of all periods, genres, movements and price points of 20th- to 21st-century [artwork]. The pieces start at $10,000, with [a] sweet spot [of] $50,000 to $100,000, and into the high six figures. There are must-have treasures for every budget.” Andy Warhol (1928-1987), Shaindy Fenton (Society Portrait), 1977. Silkscreen on canvas, 40½ x 40½ in. Courtesy Helwaser Gallery.

New Orleans-based M.S. Rau brings a superb display of blue-chip museum level investment art, with works by Monet, Rockwell, Andrew Wyeth, N.C. Wyeth and others, Friedman adds. Guarisco Gallery in Washington, D.C., will showcase masters like Mary Cassatt and Alfred Sisley, among others. Additional exhibitors of historic art at the 2022 fair include New York City-based Hollis Taggart Gallery and Helwaser Gallery, as well as Lawrence Fine Art in East Hampton. Friedman adds that there will also be “a museum-quality solo booth display of watercolors, prints [and] drawings by the 1930s genius graphic artist, M.C. Escher, presented by Walker Fine Art.”Guests browse artwork during a previous Hamptons Fine Art Fair. © Adam D. Smith - SevenThirteenCreative.

The glamorous opening night on July 14, the Bastille Day Vernissage, celebrates both the fair and the national French holiday. The evening, with gate revenue benefitting Guild Hall in East Hampton, will offer French champagne, wines, spirits, entertainment, music and more. —
