Art and antique dealers enjoyed a successful opening night at The Philadelphia Show, an art and antique fair that drew more than 2,000 people over the course of the weekend-long event.
The Philadelphia Show showcases antiques, fine art and design with an emphasis on Americana.
Schwarz Gallery sold six paintings on opening night, and Jeffrey Tillou Antiques sold many pieces, including a rare tiger maple dressing.
More than 2,000 people flowed through the big white tent atop the Rocky Steps for The Philadelphia Show.
Exhibitors enjoyed strong sales of paintings, furniture and other pieces of historical significance and beauty.
Exhibitors offering jewelry, antiques and fine art all reported receiving an overall positive response and interest from collectors. Among other significant sales was a Henry McCarter pastel landscape from Dixon-Fine Art to a local museum and that of a George Cope painting from H.L. Chalfant, in addition to a Philadelphia marble top pier table, a Kentucky rifle and several porcelain items, as well as a large landscape painting. —
